Company settings
Your company settings hold the details that surface everywhere in iConfigure: the name, address and contact details printed on the quotation PDF, the address quotes are sent from, who gets a copy of quotation emails, and the languages your configurator is available in. You fill them in once; every product, quotation and email in this workspace uses them from then on.
Where to find it
Manager → Settings → Company.
The page consists of sections, which you expand and collapse one by one.
You need permission to edit company settings. Without it, Company does not appear in the menu. See Getting started with Manager.
Saving and discarding
Changes are not saved automatically. As soon as you edit something, the action bar at the top offers:
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Discard | Resets every field to the last saved version. Only clickable when something has changed. |
| Save | Stores all sections at once — you do not save per section. Only clickable when something has changed. |
While storing, the save button shows Saving…. Cmd/Ctrl + S saves as well; Cmd/Ctrl + 0 collapses or expands all sections.
The exception is the Email sender setup: setting up, verifying and removing a custom sender take effect immediately, outside of these buttons.
Identity
How your company appears on quotations and in email.
| Field | What it is used for |
|---|---|
| Company name | Required. Appears on the quotation PDF (@@company.name@@) and as the sender name in emails. |
| Company email | Your contact address. Shown in quotation emails as the address customers can reach you at, and available on the quotation (@@company.email@@). To receive a copy of every quotation email yourself, add an address under CC or BCC in the Email sender section. |
| Phone number | On the quotation (@@company.info.phone@@). It is printed exactly as you enter it, so enter it the way you want it to appear, for example +31 20 123 4567. |
| Tax ID | On the quotation (@@company.info.taxId@@). |
| Chamber of Commerce (KVK) | On the quotation (@@company.info.companyId@@). |
Banking
IBAN and BIC are printed on the quotation footer, as @@company.info.bankId@@ and @@company.info.bicId@@. They are not used for payments anywhere — they are purely what your customer sees on the PDF.
Address
Street and house number, a second line for apartment/suite, zip code, city and country. The country is picked from a list (Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Italy).
Each field has its own variable in the template editor: @@company.address.address@@, @@company.address.apartment@@, @@company.address.zip@@, @@company.address.city@@ and @@company.address.country@@. If you want the address on a single line, put the variables one after another in the same text box.
Logo
Your company logo is no longer set here. Upload it on the Branding page (Manager → Design → Branding); from there it is used in quotation emails and on the quotation PDF via @@company.logo_url@@.
Email sender
By default we send your quotations from the platform's address. In this section you set them to go out from your own domain — which looks more professional and keeps your mail out of the spam folder.
It takes three steps:
- Enter a sender address. For example
quotes@yourcompany.com. Whatever comes before the@is up to you; only the domain behind it counts, because that is what you are going to confirm. Click Set up. - Add the DNS records. You get a table of records (type, name, value). Copy those over at your domain host, where your domain is registered, under the DNS settings. Nothing about your website changes. The copy button behind each record copies the value exactly.
- Verify. Click Verify or simply wait — we check automatically. Per record you see Found, Not found yet or Found, but the value does not match.
| Topic | What you need to know |
|---|---|
| Waiting time | DNS changes sometimes show up within a minute, sometimes only after a few hours. You do not have to stay on the page. |
| In the meantime | As long as verification is incomplete, we simply keep sending from the default address. Stopping halfway breaks nothing. |
| MX priority | The MX record has its priority in front of the value. If your domain host has a separate field for it, enter 10 there and leave that 10 out of the value. |
| After verification | Leave the DNS records in place. Remove them and sending falls back to the default address. Click Check again to re-check the records. |
| Removing | Remove custom sender deregisters the domain. Setting it up again means adding new DNS records. You have to remove the old records at your domain host yourself — we have no access to your DNS. |
CC and BCC
Below the sender setup you choose who gets a copy of every quotation email:
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| CC | Receives a copy; visible to the customer. |
| BCC | Receives a copy; hidden from the customer. |
Type an email address and follow it with a comma (or press Enter) to add it. An address that does not look valid is marked and skipped when sending. These fields are saved with the Save button.
Languages
This is where you decide which languages your configurator is available in.
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Default language | The language you author your content in: product names, steps, options. This is the base version every translation is derived from. |
| Available languages | The languages your customer can choose from in the configurator. Click a language on or off. |
Available are Dutch, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Danish, Swedish and Portuguese.
The default language is always on (marked with a star) and cannot be switched off — a default language the customer cannot pick would make no sense. Enable an extra language and it also appears in the translation fields of the Product Editor, where you fill in the texts per product. Switch a language off again and it disappears from the configurator; translations you already entered are kept.
Tips
- Fill this in first. Name and address appear in virtually every template and email; if you add them later you have to regenerate existing quotations to get them in.
- Check your details on a real PDF. After saving, open the template editor: the preview shows your company details exactly as they will be printed.
- Arrange the email sender together with whoever manages your DNS. That is often your web developer or hosting party. Forward them the table of records; it takes them a few minutes.
- Only add a language once you are going to fill it. A checked language without translations falls back to the default language for the customer and looks half-finished.
